I'm the owner, creative designer & general dogsbody behind Silver Sensations.
As this is my first blog, I thought I'd let you know a little about what goes on behind the scenes & about myself.
I'm married to a wonderful & very patient husband & have 2 beautiful grown up daughters. I sometimes think I'm not old enough, (yet), but I have a wonderful & thoughtful Grandson & a beautiful, but mischievous Granddaughter.
I started making my own jewellery in 2010 & I've often been asked why. So… one of the main reasons is that it didn't matter how long & how hard I searched, I just couldn't find ‘the’ piece of jewellery I was looking for. Sometimes it was the design & others it was the price. Or maybe the stone wasn't right.
Having been a ‘crafty’ person since I was a young child & having a passion for wearing jewellery, I decided this was what I wanted to do. I realised that I was able to design & create unique designs with different styles which have grown over the years.
I started making jewellery with the more accessible gemstones like Hematite, Black Onyx & various types & colours of Jade & soon discovered the wonder of more semi precious gemstones that nature gives us. I was shocked, but also pleasanty surprised, how many unusual stones there are.
I created my very first website in late 2010 & am enjoying every minute of it. Well, apart from the accounting side that is 😊
